Hello, Nice to meet you.
Hello!
Welcome to Three Bad Stitches.
So who are the Three Bad Stitches? My mother (Hope), my sister (Miranda), and myself (Savannah). We have always been quite close and spent lots of time crafting. Crafting in it’s many forms has always been family affair.
My great-grandmother was a hand-quilter as much out of interest as necessity. Her daughters, my mamaw and great-aunt, were also crafty. Mamaw is an award winning embroiderer and my great-aunt an award winning quilter.
Mom, Miranda, and I will pick up any craft in arms reach. No craft is off limits. Mom quilts and sews, mostly home decor but also clothing. She learned to crochet when she was a freshman in high school. I think she taught Miranda and I before I was 10 as a way to keep us busy so she could work on her own projects. That was it, I was hooked! (pun not intended…but enjoyed.) Miranda picked it up again years laters.
Then in the early 2000’s we all met a friend that loved to knit. We had a few lessons and that was that. I did, and still do, use friends and the internet to learn new knitting skills.
I always say as a rule of thumb: mom is the seamstress, Miranda the crocheter, and myself the knitter. At the end of the day, we love many more crafts and enjoy mixing them for interesting end results.
We are excited to start and continue in this journey of establishing a hand-made business and sharing our love for each other and family. We would be interested to know what your craft of choice is and how you learned it. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
